Hi Robert! Great hearing from you! What you experienced is happening across the country = 10-14 years max of sports in exchange for a lifetime of spiritual apathy which negatively affects every aspect of their lives. Yes, share it any way that's helpful.

Love it Brian! Been saying this for years.finally had a parent apologize to me, "you were right" as his now adult children and grandchildren become Christmas and Easter attenders. May i have permission to make this content into a brochure, and available at our Back to School block party?

Pastor Brian, I think you are on point. So on point that it has convicted me enough to start making changes in our home. I have never had any misconceptions about our boys going to the pros, lol. Like you said, it's never going to happen. I am curious if you will get any kickback on that issue. Regardless (and I know you are no stranger to "kickback") it is your job as a Pastor to make these difficult calls and educate us. Thank you brother!

Appreciate that, man. I figured this one might stir the pot a little, but that’s part of the job, right? Love that you’re already thinking about it at home — respect. Let’s keep at it.

Love this article and agree with you 100%. Not only are these youths missing out on important lessons by attending church services, BUT these AAU programs are ALSO now scheduling games all day Friday during school years. It is all about them making money with no regard to education as well. Very disturbing to me that something I was proud to be a part of has evolved into what we are now seeing.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You have said what needs to be said! I've been watching the same thing for years, but not sure how to approach people without making enemies. I appreciated your comments of what to do...that should help! I had an instance with my sons with high school football. The coach decided to have practice on Sunday at 10a. Well, that wasn't going to fly and my sons knew that. So, I went to the coach and we chatted. He changed practice to 1p. Problem solved! What kind of response have you received from those members of your church who are all in on sports?

Thanks Derrell. Reactions have been positive, but they know that I'm actually all in on sports as well. I think sports are fantastic for developing problem solving and leadership skills and resilience. So I'm a big sports guy. But there are more important things in life than sports. Parents need to keep that tension in balance.
